JUXTAPOSE ART MACAO

JUXTAPOSE ART MACAO

‘Juxtapose’ | A Special Exhibition of “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021” held in GalaxyArt Macau, Cotai from 20 July 2021 until 31 October 2021. ‘Juxtapose’ is presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation (GEG) for Special Exhibition of “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021,” hosted under the patronage of the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture and the Secretariat for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Macao Government Tourism Office.

We are pleased to collaborate with GEG Foundation for this ambitious project. Juxtapose consists of 11 pieces of wire sculptures covering historical sites, architecture, religious sites, festivals, people and stories re-enacted Macau’s past events. Our creative director, Mr Tang Mun Kian who is the mastermind of Juxtapose believes that the wire sculptures required stories and characters to bring them to life by weaving all intricate parts together to form a complete and meaningful art piece.

Each of the steel rod sculptures depicted pivotal icons, trades of the past and festivals of Macao – from the famous A-Ma temple to the unsung Naamyam singer. What makes Macau so special is that it portrays a unique and perfect marriage of the east and west, where two distinct cultures can be experienced at the same time, hence the title of the installation – Juxtapose. This installation sums up perfectly what Macau is to the world.

One of the key elements to make all our projects a success one is “dedicated project team members”. A total of 11 pieces of wire sculpture consist of uncountable work done behind the scene with a team of artist, designers and sculptors. They have been the silent warrior behind the growth of SCULPTUREATWORK. Those tedious tasks, seemingly insignificant things can, together, become something quite impactful to the sculpture.
